We All Love Techno

Last weekend I was at I Love Techno and it was absolutely great!
I Love Techno Entrance
We were amongst the very first in line as you can see in the picture above and when we got in, there was nobody but some staff still doing the final preps. We got ourself some drinks after the bars opened and went to the Blue area:
Blue Dance
2000 And One was playing. He did a real good job in getting the party started. We had a lot fun of while all the people came in. Then Trentemøller came on. They played a very nice show, all though I didn’t enjoy it quiet as much as I did on Lowlands earlier this year.
Then we took a little break to eat a little and saw the last half of the Simian Mobile Disco show. It was really awesome. I’d know their album, but with added enthusiasm of the crowd it was even better. But we came to see Dr. Lektroluv. I’d all ready seen him almost a year ago in Doornroosje (Nijmegen, NL) and thought he was really great. And now again. I really enjoyed his show. This time it had a little less of a underground atmosphere, but that was to be expected with 5000 compared to a couple of hundred people at his previous set.
A little exhausted we took a break in the switch room in the middle of the venue before going to Ellen Alien. I knew from her albums she liked to stretch it pretty long and wouldn’t have great shifts in her sets, but I couldn’t have anticipated that this was because she can’t DJ! I think it was only her third track when she absolutely completely mismatched the beats and then let it play for like half a minute! Everybody boe-ing at her with just cause. It just hit me right in the face as I was dancing and enjoying and it would turn out not to be her only mistake in the course of her set. I left, disappointed.
We took a little break to regain our energy and then went to Justice. We can in halfway through the show. (I’d allready seen Justice at Lowlands and the other guys wanted to see Felix Da Housecat afterwards.) Justice was absolutely rocking the place. Even in the back it was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The harsh electro with clear rock influences. The pounding beat with a sweeping underline of a melodic very danceable rhythm. It’s a lot of Daft Punk but in a clearly 2007 individual implementation. Sounds kinda vague, but where Daft Punk first started to lean back from the all-electronic to electric guitar sound, Justice has really evolved in this aspect and as a bonus added some extra influences.
Well, see for your self:

After Justice came Felix Da Housecat. He played fairly good, but we were all very exhausted. The set was really long and deep. Normally good for this late in the night, but after half an hour we left. But I do want to show you the great lighting and VJ-ing. Watch how lighting and sound match. At the break and at the climax:
